Students will understand the meaning of the CT term ABSTRACTION, as it relates to summarizing a short passage. They will be able to summarize the text into a short, concise statement that contains the key details of the text.

Students can listen to others and respectfully add their thoughts. Students can identify the most important parts of an object. Students can define abstraction.

Abstraction in Science Models
Students will identify models of molecules as abstractions of what is happening in a chromatography experiment. Students will compare abstractions of chromatography. Students will make their own abstraction to represent the process of separating mixtures.
